On January 20, 2015, I was elected to serve as President of the Georgia Chapter of ACHCA. I am very humbled by the membership electing me and having the opportunity to serve the administrators of the “Great State of Georgia.” I currently am the administrator at Bolingreen Health and Rehabilitation in Monroe County.
I hold a master’s degree in Gerontology with emphasis on aging services; I currently serve on the executive committee, of the Region Healthcare Coalition for Region F, and also serve on the Emergency Preparedness Committee for GHCA. My professional commitment to long term continues with my serving on the ACHCA national Education Committee and the Academy of Long Term Care, and as an adjunct faculty member at Middle Georgia State College. My greatest accomplishments professionally are my certification as a nursing home administrator and being a Fellow of the ACHCA. These two credentials have enhanced my attributes as a nursing home administrator.
Although I may be from the “North,” I have learned to become (and enjoy) being a “Southern Gentleman.” I am from Boston, Massachusetts, and I have been living here in Georgia for the past 19 years. I am retired from the US Army after 22 years. My greatest accomplishments personally are my two children, a young man who has his pilot’s license and a young woman who is in nursing school. They both have made me a very young “pappy” by giving me two beautiful granddaughters. I also have a Boston Terrie whose name is BB. I enjoy reading, listening to music, going camping, and to the beach. I also ride a motorcycle.
I look forward to growing the state chapter in membership and on certification of administrators. I encourage you to seek certification and become a fellow of the college as part of your professional growth and development.
